Despite his remarkable progress, John humbly acknowledges that maintaining his new healthy lifestyle hasn’t always been easy. During the challenging times of the Covid-19 pandemic, he confesses to falling into a slump, admitting that he “let everything go” and became lax with his exercise routine. However, John is now determined to refocus on his health and well-being.

In a candid interview with Rolling Stone, he expressed his intentions to establish a new exercise regimen in the upcoming summer months, eager to regain his vitality. Reflecting on his current state, John admitted, “I haven’t been exercising, but I’m going to start a routine again this summer where I can get some stuff done. I’ve just let everything go just because I haven’t had the energy.”

The actor further elaborated on his approach, highlighting how simple activities like walking his dogs have become an integral part of his daily routine. While he used to engage in boxing for fitness prior to the pandemic, the temporary shutdown disrupted his training, and he confesses to succumbing to a temporary bout of laziness.

John credits his remarkable weight loss journey to the guidance of his personal trainer, Mackie Shilstone, who introduced him to a “Mediterranean-style eating plan.” This wholesome approach emphasizes the consumption of fish, nuts, olive oil, vegetables, and fruit. To complement his dietary changes, the actor diligently worked out six days a week, ensuring he reached a target of 10,000 to 12,000 steps each day.
