A former bodyguard has recently claimed that he was fired by Mike Myers for making eye contact with him during the filming of the 2008 movie “The Love Guru.” Canadian radio presenter Jay Brody shared this revelation on Twitter after a tweet praised Keanu Reeves for helping out on the set of “John Wick 4.” Brody stated that people who say Reeves shouldn’t be praised for his help don’t understand what it’s like working in film, and he shared his personal experience with Myers to highlight this.

During his radio show, Carly and Jay on Sonic Radio, Brody shared that he was offered the job to work with the Austin Powers star as a bodyguard while working for an agency. However, he said that he was warned not to look at Myers while on the set. Brody shared that he saw a man approaching him in a long wig and fake beard, and he realized that it was Mike Myers. He looked away immediately, but he realized he could not just let anyone into the trailer. So, he looked up and caught Myers’ eye for a second, gave him a nod, and looked away. Within an hour, he received a call informing him that he was fired because he had broken the strange rule.

This is not the first time there have been complaints about Myers’ on-set behavior. Actress Amy Hill, who worked with Myers on “The Cat in the Hat,” described working with him as “a horrible, nightmarish experience.” She told the AV Club that Myers had his handlers dress his trailer and cover his area with tenting because he didn’t want anyone seeing him. Hill also stated that he didn’t get to know anyone on set and would just be with his people and walk away. There was even a person who held his chocolates in a Tupperware container, and whenever he needed chocolate, he would run over and get one.

Director Penelope Spheeris, who worked with Myers on “Wayne’s World,” also claimed that he was emotionally needy and became more difficult as the shoot went along.
