Instant Pot Turkey Breast with Gravy

Turkey is a staple in American cuisine, but it often only gets the spotlight on one day of the year: Thanksgiving. Roasted turkey takes center stage on dinner tables across the country on that day, but after that, it’s often forgotten until the next year’s feast. This may be because cooking a whole bird can be quite the undertaking, and it can produce a lot of leftovers for daily meals.
However, there’s no rule that says you have to cook a whole turkey every time you want to enjoy it. A single turkey breast is the perfect size for a family dinner, and the best part is that it can easily be cooked in an Instant Pot! With this approach, you can enjoy a delicious turkey dinner any day of the year, without all the fuss and leftovers that come with roasting a whole bird. So go ahead and satisfy your turkey cravings, no matter what the calendar says!
Just rub it with butter and spices, pour in a cup of chicken broth, and cook on high pressure for half an hour, and your turkey will be tender and juicy. All it takes is a quick toss under the broiler to brown the skin. And if you thicken the juice left in the pot with a little cornstarch in water, you’ll have a delicious golden sauce to go with it.
What if my turkey breast is larger or smaller than the recipe?
A good rule of thumb is to cook it for 6 to 8 minutes per pound if it’s fresh. And always a natural release. You should check the turkey with a digital thermometer once it is done to make sure the temperature is a minimum of 165 degrees F in the thickest part of the breast.
